Interview with the ArtisticAnimanga StaffI like to have fun little projects for our members and our staff. I felt it was a good idea to do a self interview for ourselves to let you guys know us better. I will warn you now, this is going to be a long interview as each staff that decided to participate answered the questions.
Each staff member was asked to choose two questions they would want to ask their favorite artist. One question was chosen from each staff member and were then told to answer the questions themselves.
What drives you to keep on going when you seem to lack the energy/motivation to finish a picture?
=WickedDaeus: Sometimes it's just pure determination to complete something, since I always tend to never finish the things that I draw. So, honestly, you can see why I don't have many pictures in my gallery, they just aren't ever completed!

Excuses and Inspiration.I found an extremely poignant quote on the wall of perhaps the worst hotel I've ever stayed in in my entire life during the move to San Francisco. Now that I'm in my apartment instead of the afforementioned crappy hotel, I'd like to share it with you guys:

What's with 'Studying from Life'!?This is the revisiting of a news article I wrote a few years back.
Allow me to begin this article by mentioning that this was written with aspiring professionals in mind. For those of you who wish to pursue art as a hobby with no intention to make it a career choice, I have no doubts in your abilities as an artist, but art for you is a pleasure seeking thing. I would never wish to turn it into something even remotely reminiscent of 'stressful work'--as a hobby should never come to that. Chance to get Surrender?[ENG/SPA]Hi guys. After packing all the stuff I needed to send after conventions, I still have one copy of Live in a Glasscase 6, the magazine where first chapter of Surrender was printed (in Spanish, of course). The price of the book would be 3€ (I guess that's around $5USD) + shipping (that depends of your living zone). The magazine is in black and white/grey tones and my story is 20 pages length (18 of comic + 2 covers). The book contains other stories (most of them oneshots) and illustrations.
The point is I don't know if anybody would be interested. And in case that there are many people interested, I'm not a friend of random drawing lots.That's the reason why I thought for a mini-contest or something? There would be only one winner and the price would be the magazine in your hands for free.

Q: Can you draw this for me?
A: No.
Q: What programs do you use for your digital art?
A:Right now I only use Paint Tool Sai. Occasionally I use GIMP 2.0 to make transparencies and borders.
Q: What size canvas do you use for your digital art?
A:This depends on what I'm drawing, but usually I'll start with a 3200x4400px canvas with 300px resolution then shrink or expand when necessary.
Q: How do you "do this?/ color this? etc."
A: Honestly, if I was able to answer this then I would but I can't. I can't explain my methods and techniques very well, also I'd rather not reveal them considering the fact that I learned them on my own through trial/error/and tutorials that are filled with tips. I have speed paints so you can get a sense of how I do things, whether you can learn from them or not is entirely up to you, that's all. You can also look up your own tutorials, there are a bunch of them on youtube and DeviantArt, you just have to do

Like most photographs of this nature, it is an attempt at being "edgy" and "original" with a blatant disregard of the meaning and intended use of said cultural object.
As many people know, the utilization of traditional native garb and ceremonial objects is a popular hipster trend.
So, you're probably thinking "who cares? it's just a random woman in an Indian headdress. Nothing I haven't seen before. It's a trend so whatever, not hurting anybody, just let them do what they want to do."
