Fastest Way to 40,000 Hits

Sat Sep 8, 2007, 9:20 PM
The surefire fastest way to 40,000 hits on dA is to steal someones art. You can sometimes get even more! Pretty sweet deal, eh?

</sarcasm>

There's an odd fascination between people and art theft. It seems like the kind of drama everyones dying to get their noses in. But why give it the attention it doesn't deserve? I met a person I used to know on dA because she had been accused of ripping someone elses art. 20,000 + hits later, she was let off with quite a nice boost. It's likely the best publicity you can get on dA.

With all of the pathetic things people do to get attention on dA (create 200 accounts to fave their own work, misscategorize things so they'll end up on the main page, put popular searches like loish or naruto in their keywords just to show up on the searches, etc etc) I'm absolutely shocked more people haven't caught on to the amazing free publicity of stealing and ripping art! All made possible, because we can't just stick out of things that aren't even out business to begin with.

So on the subject, what's the stupidest thing you guys have seen for people to try to get attention? My favourite is the "I am leaving dA FOREV" every second week stunt. Oh, that's golden :)

ps. Sorry to dissapoint those who actually thought I had a magical way to get 40K fast. Apparantly commenting doesn't help; my friend *rabid-potato gave out over 100 comments for every 10 she got, and my other friend ~Epiaruna gave 42.89 comments per day since she joined DA. Neither of them have 40K hits altogether; they barely have 40,000 hits between the two of them!

I don't like getting into that stuff for the same reason I don't like getting into heated discussions online. It's just too much hassle and it'll get sorted out if people go through the system... or it won't and the person with leave and then the thief will have nothing else to steal... which would be an unfortunate result, but my point is, these things get sorted out without me, so yeah XD (plus stayin' in the loop is so damn hard to do! so much effort)
lol, people do some crazy shiz~

huh? O____O
they DID that???
200 accounts.. :faint:

...ewww,,, isn't that mean that you are lying to yourself??

1 word.. pathetic :(

true, anyone would like to get more love and attention to their artworks..
but.. that *points above* just.. cheap.. sheesh

I can't imagine, an artist whose watchers are all actually himself/herself.. :O
...what's so fun/great with :+fav: and watch yourself?
..I-I didn't get their way of thinking
:|

umm,, umm,, I didn't know much about how to get on the front page.. do you have to get more than 100 :+fav: on the artwork?
..coz I saw many (I mean, MANY) artworks that displayed on the front page only have, like, 50 and less :+fav:
..does it mean that my PC is broken? TTATT

.....
.........forgive me for not going to the subject of the topic..
I'm so stooopppiiddd ;___;

"what's the stupidest thing you guys have seen for people to try to get attention?"

hmm..? stealing arts
..and the artist make a fuss on how ppl so mean by accusing him/her as an art-theft =P

oohhh and I wanna tell you something funny :lol:
I told someone that his artwork -which he declared that it IS his own artwork, I mean an artwork of fanart- is actually NOT his

why I said so?

cuz I had the ORIGINAL artwork in my PC :(
that art as he declared as a tribute to a-manga-that-I-won't-give-a-name-with
actually is one of the artworks from the TRUE artist/mangaka

YES, he gave credits to the mangaka. BUT only like, "this YYY is a character of mangakaXXX"
NO, he DID NOT say that there's the original one from the real mangaka
NO, *at first* he DID NOT say that he TRACED and RECOLOURED it from the ORIGINAL one

finally -he said- that he traced it and recoloured it
..after I made some apperarance, of course

..but is it because not much ppl know about it (that it's indeed the real artist/mangaka own work), and he traced/recoloured it, can make you as the TRUE owner???

and also, the funiest part is..
his friends agreed with him and insulted me instead 8DDD
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

maybeee.. he *thought* that it's enough by giving credits that it's a fanart of mangaka-XXX
and his friends.. seemed they misunderstood me
..or they truly close their eyes and ears
u__u

but what made me so MAD was he rant about it on his journal.
and made me as the bad guy.
heellllooooo??? I'm not the one tracing-recolouring-the-original-artwork-and-gave-statement-that-it's-mine
:|

the world has gone nuts, my friend 8D

eek
another long rambling from me XD;
forgive me m(_ _)m

oh, and sorry for the broken english ^^;
I'm still learning =P

hmm could be your settings? But the mainpage has various sections. one of the sections is recent submission, so they will have no or very few comments and faves. Then there's "popular" which are the top fav'd pics for that day :)

I don't think thats true, though. I cruise dA a lot and I see some really good fanart that isn't crazy popular.. has to be chance. or luck or something~

:D I've never tried to get lots of page view purposely, but every time I put up a piece of art I've done I love to come back later and see if I got anyviews. If I get 6 or more pageviews a day I get excited!!! ^^

Every dog has it's day, and I know someday, if I keep practising, I'll have mine.
