The most important tip or trick I could give on using pencil crayons. Most beginners underestimate the use of the white pencil crayon, while it is probably your strongest tool. Includes some tips on layering and blending.

What about in the case of oil based pencils? o.o I use Faber Castell Polychromos, and normally use a Q-Tip to blend. Would the effect stay the same?

Sorry I have never used oil based pencils, so you'll have to try it out!

this is a savoir. i've known to do this for a long time, but for some reason, most people don't understand that the white crayon/pencil crayon actually has a very useful purpose. now i just send this link out!
